After making her way to the final five on "Dancing With the Stars," Lil' Kim and her dance partner, Derek Hough, were voted off the "DWTS" island Tuesday night, to the surprise of many.

Kim, who managed to wrangle a total score of 52 out of 60, despite a waltz that failed to impress the judges on Monday night, was narrowly beat out by Jewel's hubby, rodeo cowboy Ty Murray. Though he earned a much lower score of 46, Murray won the competition by surpassing Kim in audience votes.

"I think this is one of the greatest experiences I've ever experienced in my life," she said. "I think I brought different viewers [to the show]." Then she replied to the audience's cheers, saying, "I love you, too."

After the rapper learned that she is out of next week's semifinals, her partner, Hough, said of her, "Amazing person, amazing soul, amazing spirit — and an amazing dancer."

The remaining four celebrities on the show are Murray, Gilles Marini from the "Sex and the City" movie, "The Bachelor" star Melissa Rycroft and Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson.

Back in March, MTV News caught up with Kim during her rehearsals for the show, and she gushed about the chance to work with Hough. "He's the perfect person for me," Kim said. "And I think that he's such a great teacher that he's going to make my dancing talent shine through."

Kim said that she happily jumped at the chance to join the cast this season. "I always wanted to do it. I just felt like, when opportunity knocks twice, you have to say, 'Wait a minute ... I have to do this.' Dancing is in my heart."

"Dancing With the Stars" has always featured an incredible hodgepodge of celebrities competing in the world of ballroom dance and proving to the world they can drop it like it's hot. This season finds MTV-friendly faces like hip-hop bad girl Lil' Kim, "Jackass" alum Steve-O and Go-Go's frontwoman Belinda Carlisle.

"He's the perfect person for me, and I think that he's such a great teacher that he's going to make my dancing talent shine through," Kim told MTV News about the chance to work with Derek Hough. "I always wanted to do it. I just felt like when opportunity knocks twice, you have to say, 'Wait a minute ... I have to do this.' Dancing is in my heart."

"I think we can go all the way," Hough said, while Kim added that she is happy she has some say about what she wears during the competition: "They kind of create their own style for me. I get to adjust it, and that's very important for me."

Meanwhile, Steve-O decided to join the show to prove to everyone that he's ready to be healthy. "I'm in a new chapter in my life, which is all about being healthy and sober, and I think this is a good opportunity," he said. "It's a good, challenging, healthy way to get in shape."

Although he's done a lot of crazy things in his life, doing a show as tame and family-friendly as "DWTS" might prove to be his craziest endeavor yet. "I want to do as well as I can. ... It doesn't really matter how I do on the show. The fact that I get to be on it says a lot about me making some positive changes in my life."

Steve-O isn't the only one finding a healthier lifestyle on the show. Former Go-Go's leading lady Carlisle is also finding that all those dancing rehearsals have positive effects. "My butt's higher," she joked, "if you really must know!"

Carlisle didn't hesitate to join the show: "It's a dream come true for anybody. I immediately said yes. The morning after the first show, I was freaked out about it, but it's all a good time."

So does she think she can beat out Kim and Steve-O? "I just want to be good," she said. "Of course it would be amazing to win, but I just want to learn to dance. ... I think there's a lot of talented dancers this season, [so] you can't predict."

Lil' Kim is slamming the Biggie biopic, "Notorious," yet again.

The Brooklyn rapper has been chatty about the project, and previously singled out Biggie's mother, Voletta Wallace, and ex-wife Faith Evans for attempting to portray her in a negative light in the film. She was also critical of the movie's screenwriters and said it was "fishy" that she had been left out of the decision-making process.

Now, in a new interview with RapRadar.com, Kim said that Biggie often talks to her in her dreams, and she claimed the legendary rapper is unhappy about the project as well.

"I'm a very spiritual person and he's come to me many times in my dreams," she said. "But I don't think he's happy at all, at all! Because Ms. Wallace doesn't know Biggie at all and she barely knows Christopher, if you know what I mean. At all! And I was around. Even before he blew up so crazy, so I know how he felt about his mom. And Biggie was so much more than what they put him out to be in that movie. And to be honest with you, I know for a fact he's not happy. He's not satisfied at all. At all. And regardless of the fact, everybody who is involved in this movie, he has love for. Everybody. But at the end of the day, he knows who's who and what's what. Believe that. And let me tell you something, the way he's feeling is going to come out later. You're going to see who he really loved and the ones that's standing up for him the right way is the ones representing him the right way."

Her comments are the latest remarks in what was a continuing back-and-forth between the Queen Bee and Diddy, Ms. Wallace and Evans. Evans downplayed Kim's claims, while Diddy and Ms. Wallace took opposing positions. Diddy said he understood Kim's feelings.

One of the film's screenwriters, Reggie Rock Bythewood, told MTV News in January that Kim had the opportunity to contribute to her character. Bythewood said he spoke with the rapper and together they worked out the nuances of Kim's role in the film.

"Much of what she told me went directly into my next draft," Bythewood said in an e-mail. He also said Kim may have seen a rough draft of the film's script that made her upset.

Another rumored point of contention between Kim and the "Notorious" camp was the casting of Naturi Naughton to play the sexed-up rapper. False reports claimed Kim was interested in having Christina Milian portray her in the film. Kim, however, denied that claim.

She said instead she would have conducted an open-wide call.

"I wouldn't have picked a known actress," Kim said. "I would've went to Brooklyn [and] had a casting call, to be honest with you. Because there is nobody who could've pulled off that Lil' Kim/ Brooklyn feeling besides a Brooklyn girl who grew up in Brooklyn and knows what that's like. That's what I would've done."

MTV News' calls to Kim's manager for comment had not been returned at press time.

The pint-size rapper said her and Big's relationship was deeper than what was reflected in the film, complaining that the actress who portrays her, Naturi Naughton, was terrible. And she said Biggie's mother, Voletta Wallace, and the late star's wife, Faith Evans, are behind it all.

Lil' Cease, Wallace, Evans and the film's writers have refuted Kim's criticisms in various interviews. Evans told MTV News that Kim's badmouthing was "just sad." And though Big's mom told Hip Hop Weekly that Kim should "get a life," she also said she felt "bad" for Kim after seeing the film.

Now, however, Diddy and Junior M.A.F.I.A. cohort Damian "D-Roc" Butler have entered the fray to defend Kim. The two spoke up in a video blog on Diddy's YouTube page on Friday morning (January 30).

Diddy said Kim called him and asked the Bad Boy CEO to consider how she feels about how she was represented in the film.

"The only thing that I can say about the movie ... that was great from their relationship is that he really respected her as an artist, as an MC and was into her like that," Diddy explained. "All the other extra stuff, it was a movie. And Kim will have her chance, her own movie will come out there. Give Kim her chance. Don't believe what you saw in the movie; it wasn't only about that. She was with us, that was our queen. She'll always be the queen. She got every right to feel that way. The movie is really about Big. Don't focus on none of our parts; focus on Big as the man."

In "Notorious," Kim's character is shown in several lewd sex scenes with Biggie and also in a physical confrontation with the Bad Boy rapper.

D-Roc, who has spoken very little in public about the movie, said the real-life Kim has more depth than her character in the movie does. "She's more than that, and you see that when you meet her," he said.

The Queen Bee unleashed her venom on the team behind the Biggie biopic, "Notorious," saying "most of the story is bullsh--" and complaining that the actress who played her in the film never even reached out to her.

In a recent cover story with Hip-Hop Weekly, Kim — who said she has not seen the film — said she believed Big's wife, Faith Evans, and his mother, Voletta Wallace, were behind the snub.

Evans, however, denied that accusation, explaining to MTV News last week that the movie was adapted from the book, "Unbelievable: The Life, Death and Afterlife of the Notorious B.I.G.," by Cheo Hodari Coker (although the screenplay is actually an original story written by Coker and Reggie Rock Bythewood).

"It's not like [the film's producers, which include Diddy, Big's former manager Wayne Barrow and Ms. Wallace] are calling Faith to write something about somebody," Evans said. "It's based on a book that I think she participated in as well."

Now, one of the writers of the screenplay, Bythewood — whose credits include directing the film "Biker Boyz" — is clarifying the lady lyricist's portrayal in the movie.

"When I was brought onto the project, I requested to speak with Kim," Bythewood told MTV News on Saturday via e-mail. "Once I was granted access, I was blown away by the two-hour phone interview [we had]. She is a complex person. She is a sister with a lot of vulnerability and a lot of strength. Much of what she told me went directly into my next draft. Unfortunately, she was slipped a draft that was written
before our conversation. She was angry at the producers and I did not get to speak with her again."

Kim told Hip-Hop Weekly that she received a copy of the script and also viewed Naturi Naughton's audition reel. Naughton was cast for the role of Queen Bee after auditioning several times. According to Kim, though, the former 3LW singer was the worst of the potential crop to play her.

Coker told MTV News on Monday (January 12) that the copy of the script obtained by Kim was a draft that leaked at the time, and said he believes that once Kim sees the completed project, she'll be satisfied with the account of events. He also went on to say that the fans will have the opportunity to see a sympathetic side of Kim in "Notorious" that they may not have been exposed to for quite some time.

Bythewood also defended the final script, despite it not including every detail.

"Some of what I wrote about Kim did not make it in the final version of the script," he wrote. "Those decisions were made not just by me but by the studio, director and producers. In a film like this, it is hard to put everything in. However, my aim was to present a real-life human being beyond the icon we know. Biggie did right by her at times. He also did her wrong at times. In spite of that, there was deep love and caring between them. Though Lil Kim has been victimized at times, she has never remained a victim. I think director George Tillman and Naturi Naughton, who plays Lil Kim, did a great job revealing that."

One thing about Lil Kim, the pint-sized Brooklyn rapper will take on all challengers. It doesn't matter if it's man or woman.

First, there were Kim's recent comments in the latest issue of Hip-Hop Weekly, where she lashed out against Faith Evans and Big's mother, Voletta Wallace.

The lady lyricist was upset that she wasn't invited to be more involved in the making of the film. Although she hasn't seen the movie yet, Kim claims the accuracy of the script is off. The rappers said a writer involved in "Notorious" — who was not identified in the article — contacted her and, during the conversation, she said she discovered mistakes in the story.

"I knew something was fishy about them having the writer call me. When I spoke to the writer I felt like he was trying to play me, so I wouldn't give up anything," Kim explained to the magazine. "I knew I wouldn't have control of how I was depicted. I did correct the writer about Biggie's nickname for me. He had written that Biggie called me Big Momma. Biggie never called me Big Momma. As a matter of fact, he didn't even like that name for me. He used to call me Mookie."

Kim went on to say that Faith and Biggie's mother were responsible for the way she was portrayed in the movie by Naturi Naughton. But on Thursday, Evans told MTV News she wasn't responsible for the script. The screenplay, in fact, was adapted from the book "Unbelievable: The Life, Death, and Afterlife of the Notorious B.I.G.," by writer Cheo Hodari Coker.

"I don't know what to say," Evans said. "I think that beyond myself, Ms. Wallace or whoever else she wants to blame, everyone who was around Big at that time has had some things to say about [her relationship with Biggie] in order for Cheo to even write the book. He interviewed pretty much all of us. She's sadly mistaken. I'm aware of what she has to say, and that's fine. I don't know what to say. God bless her."

(The Hip-Hop Weekly interview was conducted before Evans' comments to MTV News were published; at press time, Kim's rep had not responded to requests for comment.)

The Queen Bee said she's spoken to her lawyer and has no plans to support the movie. She said she might watch the bootleg. "For legal reasons," she said.

Another, less intense, battle Kim is set to embark on is with her fellow rappers.

She recently told MTV News she's plotting her return to music soon and her approach may surprise some.

"I'm getting ready to come with a whole new flavor, a whole new style," she said, beaming. "And I don't care what nobody says, I'm not gonna let anyone pigeonhole me. This is what it is. I'm coming with it. I got to hang in there with the fellas. The only way to hang in there with the fellas is to be able to do what the fellas do. And with Lil Wayne singing and rapping, T-Pain singing and rapping, and everybody singing and rapping, somebody got to represent for my laaaaaaadies, she laughed.

Kim said she has no plans for her to use Auto-Tune, but then again, she said there are no plans in place at all.

"Maybe, maybe not," she said. "I'm gonna be singing, I'm gonna be flowing. Whatever I feel. It's not gonna be so strategic or placed. It's gonna be whatever I feel. I'm gonna have fun on my next album. It's coming soon. Really soon."

NEW YORK — On Wednesday night in Manhattan, almost all the music-industry insiders associated with the Notorious B.I.G. came out to see the premiere of his biopic, "Notorious." Jay-Z, Busta Rhymes, Lil' Cease, even Nas. But no Lil' Kim.

The Queen recently came out publicly and stated she is not in support of the film and blames Big's mother, Voletta Wallace, and his widow, singer Faith Evans, for what she calls a negative portrayal.

"I've had enough and I'm about to expose them both. ... I've been quiet for a long time," Kim was quoted as saying by Hip-Hop Weekly. "I'm very disappointed in Faith. There's nothing Faith or Ms. Wallace could do to stop me from reppin' B.I.G. all day. I'm gonna always do that. ... It's time for Ms. Wallace to be exposed.

"I was not involved in the movie," she continued. "[The filmmakers] never came and asked me anything about Biggie, but again, this was Faith and Ms. Wallace's movie," Kim told the tabloid about her thoughts on the biopic. "I couldn't believe it. I was outraged," adding that she thought Naturi Naughton was a bad choice to play her and that Jamal Woolard was a poor choice to portray Big.

"I try my best not to think about it," Evans told MTV News on Thursday afternoon (January 8) about Kim's recent quotes. "It's kinda sad."

Evans said the magazine informed her of the quotes. "I got four kids, and I definitely don't have time for this type of sh--," she noted. "It's just sad. I don't know Kim's story like that. The part of my life that she was a part of, that what was in my book. This movie is not relative to my book other than that there are certain things in there. This is not my movie. I didn't write the script. Any characters in the film had to agree for their life rights to be in the movie. I don't think I would have signed anything had I felt I was not portrayed properly. I think she had the opportunity to do that. I could be mistaken. I wasn't there.

"It's not like [the film's producers] are calling Faith to write something about somebody," Evans added. "It's based on a book that I think she participated in as well [Editor's note: 'Notorious' is based on the biography 'Unbelievable: The Life, Death and Afterlife of the Notorious B.I.G.,' by Cheo Hedari Coker.] I don't know what to say. I think that beyond myself, Ms.

Faith has not figured out what Kim has up her sleeve with the threat to "expose" her and Ms. Wallace. "I don't think there's anything about me that I would be ashamed of that I haven't already told people," she said. "I hope she found the closure she's looking for."

Faith is ready for a brand-new beginning. On Wednesday, she went to the "Notorious" premiere and watched the movie with her son, Christopher Wallace Jr. CJ plays his dad in the movie. Evans couldn't be more proud or surprised. She always knew the 11-year-old was talented but says he's the most shy of all her kids. On Thursday, CJ and his grandmother even rang the opening NASDAQ bell.

"He didn't want to get up that early, but I'm like, 'Uh-uh, baby, you go to work. You want fame? Fame costs,' " she laughed.

Although CJ is getting great reviews in the movie and appears on the film's soundtrack, rapping alongside his dad on a remix of "One More Chance," Evans said she's not sure if he'll pursue entertainment at such a young age.

"If it wasn't for this project being the project it was, I wouldn't have pulled him out of school," she said. "He thinks he's interested [in being a performer], then every time he remembers that tutor he had on set, he goes back to reality. He's like, 'I don't know.' It's fun, but it's still work."

Faith, CJ and the rest of their family are living in California. Although the Grammy winner has been out of the spotlight, concentrating on raising her kids for the past few years, she's ready to get back to her career. The New Jersey native is planning to record an album this year and is shopping around a sitcom that she would star in.

'Notorious' Actress Naturi Naughton Says Playing Lil' Kim Took 'An Adjustment'

Naturi Naughton is definitely not a "little woman" any more. Diminutive in body stature, sure. Sweet and petite, yeah. But the former 3LW member is not thinking small.

The singer/actress is ready for the next step of her career. Just erase all those memories you have of her as the cute, teeny-bopper singer. The New Jersey native isn't a child anymore: She's the Queen Bee.

Naughton plays Lil' Kim in the upcoming Biggie biopic "Notorious," and not only does she bare all in the film (yes, nude scenes), the performer gets gristle-tough with her dialogue as the lone female in Notorious B.I.G.'s Junior M.A.F.I.A.

(Should Lil' Kim get her own biopic? Let us know in the Newsroom!)

But it wasn't so easy for Naughton to play naughty. She admits that her background didn't prepare her to inhabit Kim's character. The result was a bit of a grueling audition process.

"The physical part was only half the battle," Naughton explained. "When I walked in the casting, they really loved the way I looked. It was natural. I was tiny. I've always been this way. I used to hate it, but now I'm getting work from it.

"My first audition was not good," she continued. "The acting was cool, but I didn't come from the background like Lil' Kim. I didn't grow up rhyming; I grew up singing. So I had to go back home and learn the rhymes. It was an adjustment. I came back and killed it. I got the callback with the producer. Then I got the callback for the director, George Tillman. I got, like, five callbacks, but then I finally got it."

Other members of the hip-hop community have taken notice, with King selecting Naughton to grace the magazine's December cover. She was decked out as Lil' Kim alongside the cover line "The Notorious Naturi Naughton: Queen Bee for a Day!"

"The thing about Naturi's sexiness is that it's more mystic than aesthetic," explained King's Bonsu Thompson, who interviewed Naughton for the mag. "She is this sheltered and shy suburban girl, but she's also very much a natural exhibitionist. It's up to her viewer to discover whether, in the moment, they're getting her good girl or she's giving them her bad girl."

"Notorious" will mark Naughton's film debut. Her other acting work includes a role as Little Inez in the Broadway production of "Hairspray." She's scheduled to reprise her role in the Tony-winning musical after her "Notorious" obligations are fulfilled.

Notorious B.I.G. and his protégé Lil' Kim were close during their day jobs as MCs, often complimenting each other with filth-filled lyrics on each other's songs.

But after hours, the two Brooklyn natives shared a much more complex relationship.

Kim, after all, was Biggie's artist, signed to his and Lance "Un" Rivera's Undeas Records. She was also one of the married MC's lovers.

In this exclusive clip from "Notorious" (which comes out January 16; the star-studded soundtrack arrives in the 12th), the Queen Bee is in the studio with Big and his entourage/group Junior M.A.F.I.A. as she's laying down the vocals for the song that would become "Big Momma Thang."

Biggie's wife, singer Faith Evans, is also present.

As the pint-sized diva is isolated in the recording booth, a demur, sweater-wearing Faith approaches Big (portrayed by Jamal Woolard) at the soundboard and kisses him goodbye as she leaves the studio.

A brooding and scantily clad Kim huffs and puffs throughout her rap as she looks on. She then gives Faith an evil eye that's a razor-sharp as her lyrics. It's clear Faith — who is confused by the situation — isn't yet aware of Biggie's extramarital activities with Kim.

"To me, the Kim element of his life, it's important and significant because it shows you the dynamic [between them]," Wayne Barrow, Big's former manager and a "Notorious" producer, told MTV News. "The same thing with Faith. Each woman in his life represents certain things. I always felt like [Big] was such the man that he was toward women because he was always trying to find his mother. As a man, you're never gonna find a woman to replace that woman until you have a daughter or a little girl and she becomes your life. Anything in between is you trying to get to a better place.

"Although he was maybe womanizing,[Biggie] was trying to grow and become a man. He just didn't always know better."
